Geography

Explore, Analyse, and Understand Our World

Our Geography curriculum is designed to ignite curiosity and wonder about the world around you.

Students explore both human and physical aspects of geography, examining themes like sustainability, development, globalisation, and climate change. Cartographic, graphical, ICT, and GIS skills will make students proficient in analysing geographical data.

Students explore a range of both physical and human geography topics every year. These include discovering answers to key questions such as ‘Why is our earth restless?’, ‘Why do our rivers rage?’, and ‘Can we close the development gap?’ During Key Stage 3, specific topics are studied that lay the foundation for tackling GCSE Geography in Years 10 and 11 in terms of required skills, knowledge and understanding.

Throughout their time at school, students will participate in infiltration investigations, tackle micro-climate investigations and complete coastal management enquiries for their Geography field work. As you would expect in Geography, students are able to visit the environments around them.
